How long does it take to make dental prostheses?

Between the impression and the finished piece lies the laboratory. How long it takes depends less on the material than on the number of try-ins.

Crown

Two appointments, about a week apart. With an in-house milling unit sometimes in a single day. In between you wear a temporary.

Bridge

Two to three appointments, about two weeks. With larger work a framework try-in is added.

Denture

Four to five appointments over three to six weeks: impression, bite registration, tooth set-up for try-in, completion, follow-up check. The try-in is the most important appointment – this is where how the teeth look is decided.

On implants

Here the healing time is added: depending on the bone, three to six months between the procedure and the final restoration. During that time you wear a temporary solution.
