What types of dental prostheses are there?

Dental prostheses are classified by two aspects: whether they are fixed or taken out, and whether they are supported by your own teeth or by implants. From that follow the forms that occur in practice.

Fixed

Crown on your own tooth, Bridge across a gap, Crown or Bridge on implants.

Removable

Partial denture when teeth remain, Full denture for the toothless jaw, Telescopic denture as a particularly firmly seated form in between, implant denture with a hold on implants.

The form in between

Combined prostheses join the two: a fixed part on your own teeth, a removable part fastened to it. Telescopic and attachment work belong here.
