A full denture in the upper jaw usually holds well — the surface of the palate provides suction. In the lower jaw that surface is missing, and the tongue moves the denture with every word.

Two implants on which the denture clips into place change that fundamentally. Internationally this restoration is regarded as the one with the best ratio of effort to benefit in the edentulous lower jaw.

The denture stays removable and therefore easy to clean. The retaining elements wear out and are replaced every few years — that is normal and not a defect.
