If several adjacent teeth are missing, a bridge on two or more implants can close the gap without grinding down your own teeth. It sits firmly and is not taken out.
How many implants
Not every missing tooth needs an implant of its own. Two implants can carry three or four teeth – how many depends on the bone available, the chewing load and the position.
The free-end case
Most commonly this is the gap at the end of the row. Here the implant bridge is often the only fixed option – the alternative would be a removable partial denture.
