Fixed allowance: what changes at the turn of the year

The fixed allowances for dental prostheses are reset at regular intervals. For patients that is rarely noticeable, because the amounts move only slightly. It becomes important in one case: when a treatment and cost plan has been lying around for a while.

An approved plan is valid for six months. If the treatment starts later, a new application is needed — and then the current amounts apply. Usually to your advantage, but not something to rely on.

Anyone who has a plan and is putting the treatment off is best advised to check with the practice beforehand whether it still applies.
